I have included the attraction’s availability
for your reference. J
Oceanarium was still the same as I saw it years
ago. The only thing I’m mad about were the people who kept on taking pictures
with flash though “No Flash Photography” signs were seen in almost every part
of the attraction.
Seems like these three were having a little pep talk when we arrived. :P
I’m quite disappointed with Trails to Antarctica. I’ve
been here few years ago and it’s undoubtedly more attractive back then. The
area was properly maintained and it didn’t have that strong fishy smell that it
now has today.
Upon entering the attraction, visitors are
guided directly to enter the Snow Village or pay an amount to feed the Penguins
and pose for picture. Whereas before there were picture-worthy standees first
to control the people entering the Snow Village.
I tried to look for Slide O Fun but didn’t see
any signage for it inside the attraction.
The Penguin
Exhibit was also nowhere to be found, just a few penguins inside their
space.
Snow
Village was a disappointment too. Blocks of
ice were not maintained as they should be.
The management only put mats for people to step in because it’s too
slippery. Fortunately, one area looked fine (see photo above).
This attraction was one of the things I’m
excited about but it turned out to be a huge frustration.
I was captivated by this exhibit. It’s so cool
and the area is large enough to cater all things Jelly! Jellie’s Exhibit is
below Yexel’s Museum.
The Sea
Lion Show was mom’s favorite though we have to bear the scorching heat at
three in the afternoon. I suggest you pick the 5:00pm schedule so you can enjoy
the show without getting tanned. :P
Sharks and
Rays Dry Encounter is just beside the Sea Lion
Show. I saw two foreigners enjoying their full body encounter with the two
marine animals (Php1500). J There’s also a Half Body Encounter (Php800)
where unlike the full body, you can’t swim but only touch and hold them inside
their space. Aquanaut (Php995) where you can dive inside the huge aquarium and
swim with the fishes. I also saw the Mermaid
Swim Experience; I wasn’t exactly fascinated since you’ll only get to swim
with a faux mermaid tail but I think it’s fun and kids will love it more!
You can find the All Star Bird Show near the entrance of the Ocean Park.
Yexel’s
Museum is located just above the Jelly’s
Exhibit. This museum is a dream come true for the toy collector, Yexel
Sebastian. More about him at http://www.wheninmanila.com/yexel-toy-museum-at-manila-ocean-park-with-top-cosplayers-alodia-and-myrtle/
It's awesome on how they were able to paste these objects on the top of the room to make it look like we're cheating gravity. :P
The Symphony Evening Show is my most awaited
attraction in the Manila Ocean Park. Though there were no more sea creature
mascots dancing and acting like before, I still love it! It’s breathtaking and
left me in awe.
We weren’t able to watch the Penguin Talk Show though since it’s still close when we went there at 12. We were advised that it will open after the Sea Lion Show, I don’t know the connection between the two. L
The park now offers a lot of attractions; it’s
too busy mostly on weekends since this has also been a great field trip spot
for students. If you’re only for a one-day trip, I suggest that you plan first
the attractions you really want to experience since you can’t have them all in a
single day.
But if you’re planning to stay in Hotel H2O, you
can have your stub revalidated on the second day. Just go to their reservations
office in front of Gerry’s Grill and voila! J
Have you been to Manila Ocean Park? Please tell
me your experience! J
